\n\nそんなヴィッツをフルモデルチェンジしたことで生まれたヤリスは、トヨタの新プラットフォーム「TNGA(Toyota New Global Architecture)」を採用。低重心化やボディの高剛性化(変形に対する強さのこと)を取り入れたことで、より操縦の安定性が高まりました。\n
\n\n\nTNGAの採用と新開発したエンジン「直列3気筒1.5Lダイナミックフォースエンジン」を搭載したことにより、高い燃費性能を実現しました。\n
\n\nWLTCモードの計測では、2WDのガソリン車は19.6〜21.6km/L、ハイブリッド車の2WDは35.4〜35.8km/L、4WDは30.2km/Lと、ハイブリッド車のなかではクラストップの低燃費を誇ります。\n
\n\n\nヤリスには、単眼カメラとミリ波レーダーを組み合わせたことで、認識性能を向上させた予防安全パッケージの「Toyota Safety Sense」を「X」のBパッケージを除く全車に装備しています。\n
\n\nそのほか、前方の車両や歩行者、運転者を検知し衝突の危険がある場合にブザーとディスプレイ表示で危険を知らせてくれる「プリクラッシュセーフティ」や、1.5Lガソリン車とハイブリッド車のみにはなりますが、システムが車線の中央付近を走行するようにサポートしてくれる「レーントレーシングアシスト」など、運転者がより快適にドライブできるような機能が搭載されています。\n
